About Carrie
Born in Ripon, Wisconsin, on January 9th of 1859, Catt was the second of three children.
When she was seven, her family moved to Iowa, where she graduated from Iowa State Agricultural College.

The home today is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored at the direction of the National 19th Amendment Society, a non-profit organization based out of Charles City.

"Definitely Worth A Visit"
Great piece of Iowa & American history. Was at the Girlhood Home of Carrie Chapman Catt who helped with passing the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. Today was the Dedication of the Pomeroy Foundation "Vote for Women" trail marker. Definitely worth a visit!

This is an excellent exhibit. The self-guided audio tour is very good. The staff member in the interpretative center is cordial, knowledgeable and helpful. This is worth your time.
